Q:
I am a 12-year-old boy. Sometimes I get erections for no reason. Is there something wrong?

A:
You can relax – you are perfectly normal. At the time of puberty you begin to produce the male hormone testosterone and begin to experience sexual arousal. This may cause spontaneous erections (erections for no reason). Although they may be embarrassing at times, there is nothing wrong or harmful about them.

You're not alone. Take a look at a few of the questions related to this topic that other teens have asked us.
