Q:
In the summer I get little, red spots on my arms. They are about the size of this full stop. They only show in the summer. Is there anything I can do rather than covering them up?

A:
It is very hard to comment on a rash without actually seeing it. However, since you say the rash only occurs during the summer it may be heat-related, and hence what we call a "heat rash". This kind of rash is usually an inflammation of the sweat glands. By covering it up, I am not clear if you mean with clothing or with some sort of a cream. If this rash is related to heat, covering it may actually make it worse. If it is a rash caused by photosensitivity (skin that is sensitive to light, often related to certain medications or drugs) then covering it might help. So you see why it’s hard to comment without actually seeing your skin. I suggest that you see your pediatrician, get a specific diagnosis, and then you can treat the rash in an effective way.
