Q:
I've just turned 15 and it looks like that one of my testicles have dropped but one is still high up. Should I see a doctor? Is this normal?

A:
Although one testicle normally hangs lower than the other in the scrotum (sac), both should hang freely. If one testicle can’t be felt, or is felt high up in the groin, then yes, you should see your doctor. An undescended testicle needs medical evaluation. This is one of many reasons why your doctor should check your testicles routinely at the time of your annual physical exam.

You're not alone. Take a look at a few of the questions related to this topic that other teens have asked us.

  • Is it normal to feel a lot of "tubes" in your testicles?
  • I have little tiny bumps on my testicles. Is that normal?
