Q:
How do you get pubic lice if you’ve never had sex?

A:
It’s pretty hard, but not impossible. Adult lice lay eggs on pubic hair, the eggs (nits) can live for several weeks and can rub off on anything that touches the pubic area. That’s why pubic lice can be spread if you share towels, underwear, bathing suits or clothes with someone who has pubic lice, or if you sleep in a bed where an infected person has also slept. You say you haven’t had sex. You probably already know this, but lice can be transmitted by close body contact short of intercourse. If you think you have pubic lice, be sure to see your doctor for treatment.
