Headaches are a very troublesome, but very common, complaint among adolescents. I assume that if you had a CT scan that the doctor has considered all of the many causes of headache. The scan would usually detect any sports injuries, tumors or other serious problems. If, indeed, the CT scan showed you had problems with your sinuses (most likely an infection called sinusitis), then it is important that the doctor treat you for that condition. The CT scan is very accurate in diagnosing sinusitis. HOWEVER, one may have evidence of sinus disease on the CT scan, but also have headaches caused by other things that don’t show up on a CT scan, especially things like migraine headaches. If your headaches persist even after treatment for the sinus problem, then you MUST let your doctor know so that he or she can look into other possible causes of the problem. We now have many good treatments for headaches, and you should not, in this day and age, have to suffer constantly with headache pain.
