Yes she can. Uteruses are like noses – some tip up and some tip down. About 75 percent of females have a uterus that tips slightly forward. But about 25 percent have a uterus that tips backwards (“retroflexed”) or is positioned toward the back (“retroverted”). In the past it was thought that these women were more at risk of having miscarriages or difficulty getting pregnant, but this is outdated information. Our current medical knowledge confirms that they are quite normal and will have no more problems with pregnancy than any other woman. So your friend can be reassured, and she needs to use reliable birth control until she is ready to have children.
