Yes, you could have cancer, but statistically it’s not likely. Swollen lymph nodes are one of the warning signs for cancer, but much more commonly they are a result of an infection. The lymph nodes are part of the immune system, and swollen glands are one of the ways a person’s body protects itself against bacteria and viruses. Lymph nodes that enlarge from infection are generally a little tender and may last a month or so. Those that are the result of cancer tend to be harder and don’t move around much when pressed. If you have felt the lymph nodes for more than 2 to 3 weeks, if you haven’t had any kind of infection recently or if they are hard, then you should see your doctor. And you might also ask your doctor to evaluate your health and nutritional status, since you are considerably underweight.
