Q:
Is it true that your breasts get larger when you go on the pill?

A:
No, not if you are taking the low-dose birth control pills currently prescribed. Although oral contraceptives (“the pill”) may cause some breast tenderness and sensation of fullness, they don’t really increase breast size enough to measure. You don’t say how old you are or when you started puberty, so we don’t know if your breasts are still developing naturally. If you have experienced sudden breast enlargement, we hope you will give your doctor a call to make sure something isn’t wrong.
