Shedding More Light on Eye Trouble
I'm an 11-year-old male and have recently started growing nearsighted. I've heard that the stress of looking at things, like the computer, for long periods of time causes nearsightedness. Can looking at far away things for lengths of time help heal nearsightedness? Are there any vitamins you can take to help? Also can myopia heal on its own?
Is a stye caused by a contact?
Does working on a computer cause strain on your eyes? Should I have my computer set up any special way at home so my eyes and body won’t hurt?
About once a month I get a sty in the inside corner of my right eye. I don't pick at or rub my eyes, and I don't share makeup with anyone. I wear contacts but I always clean them according to directions from my eye doctor. Why is this happening?
I have two different color eyes. My left eye is a lighter shade of brown than the right one. What causes this?
What is an eye stigma?
I’m 15 years old and both of my eyes, the whites, are yellow in color. Is there something I could do to make my eyes whiter? What do you think is wrong with my eyes?
I'm a 17-year-old female. I have been wearing glasses since I was in kindergarten. My eyesight is pretty bad (-4.25 in each eye). I was considering laser surgery when I turn 18. What are the pros and cons and how is the procedure done?
What causes nearsightedness?
I’ve been having eye problems. I don’t have blurred vision, it’s more of a “static” appearance and I’ve noticed “floater.” I spend a lot of time in front of the computer. Could this cause a problem? Also, I’ve been the eye doctor and he said everything was fine. Is anything wrong with my eyes?
Is it better to prescribed glasses? My mother says that wearing glasses will make my eyesight worse. Is computerized eye testing accurate?
I am 14 years old and would like to get contacts. I play basketball and have to wear athletic goggles. Are contacts OK to wear while playing basketball and is there a chance of having them getting stuck in my eye?
I’m 16 years old and my eye doctor has told me I shouldn’t wear colored contacts because they don’t let the oxygen pass through and that would lead to a bad infection. Is he right and should I wait to get colored contacts?
My left eye is smaller than my right. Although people don't seem to notice it in real life, it's evident in photos. What's the technical term for this condition? What causes it?
I got pink eye two weeks ago for the first time. A couple days later, I got it again and a third time. It's always in my right eye on the right side. What could have caused this and how can I prevent it?
I am 15 and sometimes when I stand or look at the light I get dizzy. My sight is blurred and my head hurts. This has happened to me for about three years. I have seen the eye doctor and she said I had better than perfect vision. What could be the cause of this?
I have dark rings around my eyes. They're always there, not only when I don't get enough sleep. I really want to get rid of them, but I don't know what causes them.
I’ve worn glasses since I was 10 years old. I'm nearsighted. My right eye is -2.5 and my left eye is -2. How can I stop my eyes from getting worse?
I am 17 and I’ve had healthy eyes my whole life. Recently my eyes have been blood-shot. The eye doctor told me to use eye drops. It didn’t help at all! Can you tell me what I can do?
I'm 14 years old and I’ve worn glasses since the age of 1 1/2. I’m sick of wearing glasses but am nervous about wearing contact lenses. I have an optism in my right eye so I can only see properly with my left but with my right my sight is weak. What should I do and is there a way to cure it?
I wear contacts. Around two weeks ago, my eyes started hurting and getting red and blurred with the contacts. So, I put the contacts on a break. But, sometimes, I wake up after a nap and my eyes are red. The redness seems to come and go. What could this be?
I had my eyes tested in school with the following results: both eyes 20/50, left eye 20/70, right eye 20/50. How bad are these figures. I have an appointment for her with an eye doctor. I think I see OK and am doing well in school and sports. At what age can contact lenses be worn?
What causes eyesite to change, and get worse. Some people say it's reading in the dark or computers and watching tv. I believe it could be the computer and tv, because I use to have 20/20 and better eye vision, after hanging on the computer for about 6 months I needed glasses. Thanks
Is there any way I can tell if I need glasses?
What is a sty?
I have a "lazy eye." What is meant by a "lazy eye?"
