Chickenpox is Entirely Preventable
I recently watched a commercial on TV about meningitis. It was said that meningitis can be spread by sharing drinks. I'm an athlete and sometimes share drinks with my teammates. When I play any sports or even when I wear something that traps heat, I sweat a lot. Also, I have trouble waking up because it feels like I need to go back to sleep. When I do wake up, I feel sleepy during the day. Are these any signs that can be a serious disease or viruses? Should I go tell my doctor?
I am a 14 year old female. Should I get the vaccine for cervical cancer? Do I need to worry about that now?
I had chicken pox when I was little. When I was 12 years old, I got the shingles. It lasted for about a week. I am now 16 and I think I have the shingles again. Can you get them again? Will it be worse now because I am older?
I'm really worried about terrorism in the U.S. Now I'm hearing about germ warfare. Is there any vaccine I can get so I won't get sick if something happens? Are we immunized against smallpox when we're kids?
I am a 15-year-old female and I have never had chickenpox, but I have had the vaccine. Can I still get chickenpox? Is this serious?
In the senior year of high school, when should I get the meningococcal vaccine in order to be covered for the start of college? How long does it take before the vaccine is effective?
The information on influenza stated that the HIB vaccine does not protect against the regular flu. Why is that, and wouldn't it make sense to create a vaccine that protects against both?
I’m scared of needles and have missed most of my vaccinations at school because I’ve been too scared to go through with them. My mum has found out and is taking me to the doctor to have them all done. I know I have to go but I don't know what to expect or how much they’ll hurt? Will the doctor think I’m stupid for being scared?
I am 18 years old and will be starting college next fall. I am sure I had measles and mumps as a young child, but the university is requiring that I take the MMR vaccine. Is this necessary?
What happens in a physical?
Concerning chicken pox, is it possible to do a blood test to tell if I had it as a child?
