Put a Stop to Bullying Behavior
Characteristic Checklist for School-Associated Violence
Banishing Bullying Behavior
One of my good friends has recently been acting very distant. I know from many sources that he smokes weed, drinks and smokes. He is only 15. Now he is refusing to go to school. How do I approach him about my concerns?
I’m being bullied at school and they just don't seem to give up. They seem to only want to fight me or for me to chase them. I've tried walking away but they keep making fun of me and it makes me more angry-which is not a smart thing to do. When I try to shut them up I almost kill them by choking them and they are frightened out of their lives-which they deserved-but they were bullying me again the next day. They never give up. Then they pretend they’re my friends and are nice to me, but it starts again later on. What should I do?
I’m a 14-year-old boy and I’ve gone through a lot lately. Last year (7th grade) I was suspended from school about 20 times. This year, I was expelled from school for having marijuana in my locker and I’m being home-schooled. I’m doing better with my anger but I still instigate fights and I’m thinking of being in a gang. I smoke weed and drink alcohol but I don’t really see it as a problem. I’m thinking about joining a gang, but then I might go to juvenile hall because of my record. What should I do?
I am really scared to go to high school because of having to switch classes, not being in the same class as my friends, all of the subjects and many other reasons! What can I do?
I can fly into a rage if one slag (insult) is dealt to me. I'm 13 years old. I'm intelligent and sophisticated, but one slag or word that makes me out to be a joke or is offensive in any way I instantly want to kill that person. What's wrong with me?
Some kids make fun of me because I have acne and it really hurts my feelings. What can I do to make the kids stop making fun of me?
I am a 12-year-old girl and I get straight A's in school. A lot of popular girls tease me because it's not "cool" to do well in school. The teasing really bothers me. What should I do?
Almost eight months ago, my friend and I were attacked by a group of girls. Now, I’m always thinking about it and worrying it’ll happen again. What should I do?
I get good grades and take advanced courses in school. I'm also the target for a lot of bullying. I complained to the school, but nothing happened. I’ve started bodybuilding and now, I’ve gotten into more trouble because I fight the people who teased me. Now instead of being labeled as a nerd they think I'm psycho. Is there anyway to change this attitude?
My friends bully me and I'm scared to do something about it. What should I do?
The other day in school my class was talking about racism and a lot of the girls in my class are racist. I said that we are all equal and after class some of them beat me up and warned me not to tell anyone. A teacher asked me to tell her who beat me up. I’m afraid to say who did it. What should I do?
I'm switching schools and going into grade 10, it's a new school and I don't know a single person. I’m very nervous about this. One of your articles said to strike up conversations. What should I talk about? How do I introduce myself without sounding too perky? How do I say “Hi” to my locker mates?
I’m 14, really quiet and am being bullied. At first I ignored them, but about a week ago the bullies started kicking and punching me after school. I cry myself to sleep every night thinking what they might do next. I'm afraid to tell my parents or a teacher because I don’t want it to get worse. (I don’t have many friends.) What should I do?
I am a 17-year-old girl and I have been made fun of by other kids at school almost all my life. People talk about me everywhere I go. They say stuff like "she's a trans," "Frankenstein!” and “she looks like a dude." Some people even think I’m gay. All these words really hurt me and have made my confidence drop. I am tired of dealing with all of this. What should I do?
I am a girl. Whenever I walk by this 7th grade boy he says, "Hey, wanna date me?" or "Chick, let’s go out sometime." He says he's kidding, but he tries to hump girls from behind. Should I beware of him?
I've been a loner for two years now and I'm getting sick of it, but I'm so used to being a loner that it's really hard to change. What can I do?
I'm going into my first year of high school and I’m worried what people will think of me when they find out I hunt and target shoot. At my old school, people thought I was going to use my weapons at school because I told them about my recreational activities. What should I do if this happens again?
I'm a 13-year-old guy and it seems like everyone in my grade is against me. The people I used to think were my friends now make fun of me. Everything I do I'm made fun of, even for who I am. What can I do to make them stop?
At school, I feel like I don’t fit in. I only have three friends. I’m also having problems at home with arguing with my parents and cutting myself. I feel more comfortable talking to teachers and guidance counselors. Is there something wrong with me?
In most of my classes at school, there is at least one kid who doesn't have any friends and really doesn't fit in. Are these kids the ones who become killers?
One of my good friends is going to attend my school. At first I was excited, but now I don’t know if I want him there. I act differently at school than I do around him. How can I cope with this?
I am a 16-year-old female and school stresses me out. I am constantly being teased with the name “Troll” because of the way my hair used to be. I’ve talked to my mom and she has tried to help, but her suggestion wouldn’t work. I want to drop out of school because of being teased, not having many friends and being overweight. I have tried counseling and it doesn't feel like it is helping. What can I do?
I'm deaf and go to a school with people who can hear. I don't have friends there. I think it's because they don't know how to talk to me. What should I do to make some friends?
I am 15 years old. I am into computer programming and everyone at school asks me if I am going to shoot up the school. I have been asked by a couple of students and one teacher where I hide my shotgun. I tell them I don’t have one. What should I do?
I’m an 11-year-old guy and I have no friends. I’m in 4th grade and all the kids on my bus call me “gay” names. I know I'm not gay because I really like some girls, but they make me feel as if I am. I talk kind of like a girl and because of this, the kids call me a girl. What am I supposed to do to get friends?
I am going to high school this next year and I’m terrified. I was popular at my old school, but I’m scared I’ll become an outcast or that people won't like me. Please tell me what to do to make friends.
I used to be one of the most popular girls in school until I moved. Now nobody seems to like me and I don't know what to do about it. Just being myself doesn't seem to work here. What should I do?
There is this girl at school who is harrassing me. On the bus, she threatens me and physically harms me (hitting and slapping). Now she is in major trouble because the bus driver reported her. Today, the Assistant Principal talked to her. Now she and her friends are threatening to get me back. Because of all the violence in schools today, I am worried. What should I do?
What should I do to protect myself against a gang of pot-heads? I have already gotten into a fight with two of them. What should I do?
I’m not popular in school, but I’m not unpopular either. I’m over weight, but not for the size of my bones. On the bus older kids pick on me and say that I stink and I’m fat. What should I do, I have to face these people everyday for the next four year?
